KROPPSFUNKTION

KROPPSFUNKTION [BODY FUNCTION] is a pedagogical research and development project that explores choreography from a crip theoretic perspective and examines how conceptions regarding body, function and movement are generated, reproduced and challenged within the choreographic field.

KROPPSFUNKTION is initiated by Hanna Wildow and Iki Gonzales Magnusson and presented by c.off in collaboration with the non-profit Utopia, the activity center Vida omsorg och utbildning, and the schools Riksgymnasiet för rörelsehindrade, Särskolan Lindeparken and Kung Saga.

The aim of KROPPSFUNKTION is to open up issues of disability and crip theory within a larger cultural political context and agenda. KROPPSFUNKTION wants to expand notions of the possibility of bodies and depict new images that concern bodies, their functions and movements. KROPPSFUNKTION wants to widen contemporary dance and choreography, multiply variations and bodies, and examine how conceptions regarding body, function and movement are generated, reproduced and challenged. Thus, KROPPSFUNKTION seeks to engender a physical as well as discursive space for further variations of functions and bodies – on and outside of the contemporary, professional dance stage.

I have together with Maryam Nikandish hosted workshops within KROPPSFUNKTION during spring 2015. The 17-18 September I will host a workshop in Emotional Anatomy at the festival KROPPSFUNKTION. Read more about it here.
